I'm 3 weeks late to the party, but *_I'm going to offer a dissenting opinion from what I've seen in this comment section._* I think the color scheme of the grey lamps with the gold finish go well with the rest of the room, but the large size of them is what prevents them from looking better with the makeover. *_I don't think the original yellow lamps would be the better choice because it creates a yellow-green horizontal line on the wall behind the bedhead when you take into account the yellow and green pillows. It's just too much yellow at that point._* Contrarily, the grey lamps with the gold finish still tie into the yellow on your bed while still matching the rest of the room's grey, adding that light touch of masculinity you mentioned wanting. The only thing that brings down the grey lamps is their large size; it takes up an excessive amount of space on the night stands' surfaces. *_Grey lamps with gold finish but with the smaller size of the yellow lamps would be just perfect._* Also, you're correct about the grey carpet bringing the rest of the room down. TLDR: The grey lamps with the gold finish go with the room, but would be perfect if they were as small as the yellow lamps and you're right about the grey carpet not doing justice for the room.

If there were to be a fire, things at eye level and above would be destroyed by heat and fire; both rise. Perhaps some pendant lights instead of lamps and I would find something in brass. Cover the carpet with some smaller rugs in some pattern and color would be an easy fix too.Very nice though.

The previous color was a tad dark but very calming. Get out your painting equipment again as I think you’ll tire of this new scheme-it’s too monochromatic.

A few vlogs ago you removed a water mark by using a steam iron. Well I thought I followed your instructions, using a barely damp cloth place over the mark and then steam for a few seconds. I totally ruined my table I had more water marks than before. However I've been thinking about what I did wrong. So yesterday while streaming some suite jackets I decided to try again and remove the marks. This time I used a dry cloth and steamed for less time quickly wiping off any residue water. YES. It worked I polished the top with a bees wax polish. It looks brilliant. Thank you.

I too, cover my books in a solid paper. I use a cream paper and don’t cover the books that have green, white, cream and black covers. I write directly onto the book spines with black ink in cursive writing the titles. My books are laid horizontally on contemporary vertical bookcases where you do not see the shelves at all. You only see vertical rows of books. They look like they are floating and stand out as a piece of sculpture. I just love how they look amongst my antique and contemporary furniture as I like an evolved look that creates layers of time passed. There has to be a balance to it with a solid foundation. Color also plays a big part in creating balance. Sorry for rambling! Being a designer I get carried away! I have so enjoyed watching your design style evolve and seeing who you are more and more reflected with confidence! You are an uplifting inspiration! Thank you!

An interesting choice of Yew for the edging of the borders as it is poisonous and can grow very big if left to its own devices. Good to avoid Box because of the blight but a lower evergreen such as Ilex crenata would suit the conditions.

And who is to say what refined is and who's to say what posh is anyway. I personally love your accent.... And yes to me it is posh yet relaxed & casual at the same time which makes it very relaxing and soothing. You have a great voice and accent. Never change it. Or change it as much as you want. You are allowed to do whatever you feel.... And the fact that you even took time to explain yourself to others is commendable. Don't the two new foxglove plants look perfect in those shapely terra cotta pots ? Well chosen ! Also like where you moved the two willow trellises. The back wall in the shade could take a "Hanging Garden " lots of green ivy and more ferns. Attaching pots of purple lemon geraniums would give a lot of abundant greenery to that wall as well. They grow so easily. I once saw a shaded walled Garden with vine covered stone with an antique mirror 🪞 in the midst of it all. I know your creative ideas will generate good things.I planted Mock Orange bushes into my two Chinese antique pots. They are about 4 feet tall now. The white blossoms are still going and the fragrance is Divine. They drop their leaves in the fall, but regular watering brings them back full force in the Spring. An 🫒 olive tree would be perfect. Everything you are planting can be taken away with you if need be. Happy gardening. 🎉
